Follow Friday #3

It's that time again, TGIF. Happy Friday everyone! Follow Friday is here and most of you already know the deal. Help support the blogging community by getting to know fellow book bloggers. Thanks to Parajunkee over at Parajunkee's View, this weeks Follow Friday Question is:

What is your usual monthly book budget?

About $35-$40, although I try not to count too closely! [snickers, he! he!]

Now, for the Book Blogger Hop - Jennifer over at Crazy-for-Books asks,

"If you find a book that looks interesting but is part of a series, do you always start with the first title?"
Yes, I hate, hate, hate, hate reading a series out of order!!  Must start with book #1, although I don't always apply this rule to short stories and novellas.

  9. Just hopping along! What a cool site. very nice. I love the blog hop.

  10. I can dive right into the middle of a book series if the series' story
    doesn't run chronologically.

That is to say, if each novel in a series is a stand-alone story (like Lee
Child's Reacher novels) then I don't feel the need to start with book one.

On the other hand, a series of books (like Richard Hatch's Battlestar
Galactica novels) can't be read out of sequence since each new book builds
upon the story of the previous entry in the series.

    Happy Book Blogger Hop Friday!

  11. I have been answering this question with a firm - I can only read the books in order. But I am wondering if I could possibly read certain series from the middle. The black dagger brotherhood novels could possibly be read out of order. Although some of the later ones do have side stories that you need to have a little background on.

  12. Hi! I am a new blog follower from the blog hop. You have an awesome site!

    Happy reading!
